Rohit Vaid New Delhi, Nov 26th : .A reduction in travel hesitancy and an accelerated vaccination drive will help sustain India’s healthy rebound in aviation, stated Boeing India, an aerospace company.
In addition, air passenger numbers will increase if restrictions are relaxed and trends like “revenge travel” are encouraged.
The trend indicates a gradual conversion from the unmet demand to a more sustainable growth pattern in the industry.
Salil Gupte, President of Boeing India, stated that there has been a recovery in domestic traffic numbers.These numbers are now similar to those in 2019.
“Increased vaccination penetration will first boost domestic traffic, which is currently leading recovery.”
The positive effects of the fast-paced vaccination drive will eventually lead to the opening up of the international sector.
“Some places have 70% or more vaccinations for people over 12 years old, while others have lower rates.”
“As vaccination penetration increases, the international segments will subsequently open up and come to a nearly normal level of operations.”
He also stated that India is still a major global market for the company.
According to the most recent India Commercial Market Outlook (CMO), Boeing forecasts strong aviation growth in India because of the country’s growing middle class and economy.
This will fuel demand for more that 2,200 new jets worth nearly $320 billion over 20 years.
Gupte stated that SpiceJet’s 737 MAX aircraft was reinstated in its fleet.
The plane had been subject to extensive safety checks and software upgrades.
“We have received 13 of the 225 orders for 737 MAX aircraft in India, out of which 13 have been fulfilled.” This aircraft is a game-changer for India’s market, as it consumes 20% less fuel than the previous generation aircraft and has a greater range.
“The 737 MAX is the best option.
It has a longer range and better fuel economy.
