Austria will crack down against hate speech on the internet following the doctor’s suicide

Vienna 7 Aug : Vienna, Aug 7 : Austrian security and justice authorities are planning to adopt more aggressive stances on online hate speech after the suicide of a doctor who was targeted with threats of death because of her advocacy for vaccination against Covid-19.

Her remarks came a day after Austrian officials announced that they would cooperate with German prosecutor to look for those who posted threats of death on social media to Lisa-Maria Kellermayr, a 36-year doctor who died by suicide.The doctor who was active in the fight against the pandemic was subjected to a barrage of threats to be killed by opponents of the governments containment measures.

She was discovered dead in her office just one week in the past.The Austrian authorities have been accused of not providing sufficient assistance.
