The 26-year old also shared an update about his recovery from the elbow injury.”I believe the second last bit was done.It is quite encouraging to see the results that came out yesterday.Everything is moving along nicely. It’s just a matter if you wait a little longer and are patient.I’m getting close to the end of this road.”

Archer was unsure why England kept Stuart Broad, James Anderson out of the first Test. However, he expressed confidence in Captain Joe Root’s decision making.

The ongoing Test at The Gabba marks the first Ashes test since the Boxing Day Match in 2006 that does not feature Anderson or Broad in England’s playing eleven.

“They look very balanced.I’m not sure why Broady or Jimmy aren’t on the team.Rooty is an intelligent man.I know he would have considered all options. This might have been the best plan, or the best team, to enter the first Test.I’m going to support him on that.

Archer said goodbye by backing England to return to the match after England were beaten for 147 in 50.1 innings.”Honestly, I don’t think any team will be able to be all out, especially not before the end. There’s still one more session of cricket. We may be able to get them down two or three times before the end of play. There is no reason to not get them out there for the same 147.We hope that the guys give it their all.
