Next year’s focus: HK Chief Executive

Carrie Lam (Chief Executive, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region) recalls 2021 as an year in which Hong Kong continues to blend in the national developmental plan and outlines the work priorities for HKSAR government 2022Lam stated at a HKSAR governments year-end press conference that the current government would work to facilitate the smooth transition of the new government following the March 2022 Chief Executive Election.

She stated that the HKSAR government would continue fighting the Covid-19 pandemic in 2022, support the Northern Metropolis, and protect national security.The Chief Executive added that government-subsidised homes for sale in 2022 will have tightened transfer restrictions, in order to ensure that valuable housing resources will be in the hands of those in need, Xinhua news agency reported.

According to her, the HKSAR government intends to start relevant discussions and consult for the HKSARs local legislation of Article 23 of the Basic Law of the HKSAR by June 30, 2022.Lam gave a review of the HKSAR governments efforts in 2021.
