On March 29, 1982, the world-renowned and sovereign Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (Senior) launched the Telugu Desam Party at the MLA Quarters in Hyderabad.Party National President Chandrababu Naidu will visit the new MLA quarters announced by the party in Adarsh Nagar, Hyderabad at 4 pm.From there, they will proceed to NTR Ghat and pay homage to NTR’s tomb.Afterwards at 6 pm they will participate in the party inauguration ceremony to be held at NTR Bhavan.

Nara Lokesh, the party’s national secretary, will attend the function at the party headquarters in Amravati. At 4 pm, they will take part in a bicycle rally from their residence in Undavalli to the TDP headquarters.

Lokesh will address a public meeting at the TDP headquarters at 5 pm.

Chandrababu Naidu added a different dimension to the TDP once he is in the party. He is known for deep penetration to the grassroots having connected with cadre at the bottom of the hierarchy. He also made the party Pro-business and Pro-development which has changed the face of Hyderabad and Telugu society.

IT jobs he brought to Hyderabad changed the face of many families.

While Chandrababu was busy scripting a new history for bifurcated AP in the form of Amaravati, he failed to sense the modern-day political warfare on WhatsApp and social media.

The result is a historic defeat in 2019.There are doubts once again if TDP can ever see power but just three years after the elections, there are signs already of the revival.

“TDP performs the best when it is underestimated.History says so.It is for the opponents to ignore it,” political experts say.
