The Andhra Pradesh Chief minister YS Jagan Reddy felicitated Kidambi Srikanth, a badminton player who became history by becoming the first Indian male shuttler in the World Championship finals.
Srikanth will receive a cash prize of Rs 75,000 and five acres of Tirupati land to start a badminton schoolSrikanth is currently serving in Andhra Pradesh as a deputy collector.He was the silver medalist at the BWF World Championships 2021 in Spain, which took place from 12 December to 19 Srikanth was happy to have met the chief minister and expressed his gratitude for all of his support.
Kidambi thanked the chief minister of Tirupati and promised to set up an academy on five acres.Srikanth stated that the government has taken special care of sportspeople and thanked him for his kindness.
The occasion was attended by Muttamsetti Srinivas (tourism minister), special chief secretary G Saiprasad and SAAP Chairman Byreddy Siddarth Reddy.SAAP MD N Prabhakar Reddy and SAAP OSD Rama Krishna, Srikanth’s parents Radhamukunda & KVS Krishna, were also present.
