Amaravati 26 Nov : .Speaker Tammineni Seetaram adjourned the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly sine die here Friday, closing the curtains on one of the most exciting sessions in the state’s legislative record.
The Speaker stated that the Assembly met for 34 hours and 50 mins, during which time five brief discussions took place.96 speeches were also delivered by members.

In addition to passing 26 Bills, including those that repeal the laws regarding the State Capital’s trifurcation, the House also passed two resolutions during the seven-day session.

During the session, which began on November 18th and ended on Friday, the CAG Report was also presented.

The session’s highlight was Monday’s announcement by the government that it would repeal two laws last year that created three state capitals, but will instead announce a new comprehensive bill to address all issues, including legal, for the greater good of the people.

The session also approved the AP Cinemas (Regulation (Amendment), Bill 2021.

This opens the door to an online movie ticketing system that will be managed by the state government.

Nearly two decades after deciding to disband Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council (LPLC), the YSR Congress Party government withdrew an earlier resolution calling for the elimination of the Legislative Council.

This is the upper house of the state legislature.

The Assembly also passed a resolution calling on the Central government to enumerate OBCs based on caste.

The House was also witness to the fractious rivalry between the ruling YSRC Party (ruling party) and the opposition TDP.

The controversy caused Chandrababu Naidu, former Chief Minister, to walk out of the Assembly and break down in tears in front of the media.Naidu pledged to remain away from the Assembly until he is re-elected as Chief Minister.
