Anchor arrested for demanding 5 crores

TV Anchor Harshavardhan who became famous with his Crime Watch TV program involved in trouble.

According to reports Harshavardhan has been arrested by the Vijayawada police for his attempts to blackmail the management of a dental college.

Harshavardhan reportedly demanded the correspondent of the college for Rs 5 Cr threatening him that a defaming program will be telecasted on TV channels if he refused to do so.While college officials tried to negotiate a lower sum as settlement, an adamant Harshavardhan reportedly did not budge.Later the correspondent approached police and gave a complaint to SP Raghu Rami Reddy.

Police officials laid a trap and nabbed Harshavardhan.Harshavardhan belongs to Tandragunta of Bheemadolu Mandal in West Godavari District.The case is being investigated to see if any other persons are involved in this blackmail episode.
