Amul set up Rs 500 Crore plant in Telangana

Hyderabad, December 29, : Dairy giant Amul announced Wednesday that they have set up the largest state-ofthe-art Telangana plant with an investment in excess of Rs 500 crore.

This was in two stagesIt will be located in special food processing zones.

The initial phase of the project is estimated to cost Rs 300 crore and Rs 200 crore respectively.The plant will directly employ more than 500 people and offer opportunities for many ancillary businesses.

Amul will have the largest south Indian plant with a capacity of 5 lakh litres of milk per day.This can be expanded to 10 million litres daily to make packed milk as well as value-added dairy products like yogurt, sweets, and buttermilk.In the presence K.T., Telanganas Industries Minister, a MoU was signed.Rama Rao in Hyderabad.

Jayesh Ranjan, principal secretary, industry and commerce, and Amuls largest milk cooperatives Sabarkantha District Cooperative Milk Producers Union Ltd.- Sabar Dairy MD Babubhai M.Patel, signed the MoU.Amul also plans to establish a Telangana bakery production unit with various products, including breads and biscuits as well as baked snacks.Rama Rao expressed gratitude to Amuls leadership for their decision to establish the largest Telangana plant.

Rama Rao praised the overall performance of the state, and also spoke about Amuls friendly industrial policy as well as the current investment environment.According to him, the state is experiencing a water revolution.

Amuls entry into the state will increase its strength in its milk sector.Patel said that Amul had decided to establish their plant in Telangana because of the states investment environment and industrial-friendly policy.
