The complete actor of Malayalam cinema, Mohanlal is all set to make his directorial debut with a film called ‘Barroz‘.Touted to be a 3D fantasy period movie, the film is set in Kerala with a Portuguese backdrop.
Barroz, the lead character in the film played by Mohan Lal, was Vasco da Gama’s treasure keeper who had a significant role in history.
This highly anticipated movie had its pooja ceremony and has been launched at a star-studded event in Kochi yesterday and the event was attended by Mohanlal’s close associates from the industry, including actors Mammootty, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Dileep, directors Fazil, Priyadarshan, Sathyan Anthikad, Sibi Malayil, B Unnikrishnan, and others.
Marking this occasion, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan conveyed his best wishes to Mohanlal by tweeting, “T 3851 -Wishing the great Mohanlal the very best for his 1st directorial venture ‘BARROZ’ .success , prosperity and greater glory .,”.

‘Barroz’ is bankrolled by Mohanlal’s close associate Antony Perumbavoor, under the banner Aashirvad Cinemas.Prithviraj Sukumaran, the actor-filmmaker is playing a pivotal role in the movie.Santhosh Sivan will be handling the camera work while A Sreekar Prasad handles the editing department and Lydian Nadhaswaram composes the songs of the film.Stay tuned for more updates!
