AIKS points out ‘falsities’ in govt claims on Repeal Bill. Tomar blames Oppn because there is no debate

Hours after Parliament passed the Repeal of Farm Laws Bill 20,21, the All India Kisan Sabha declared Monday that the farmers had "won the war, but war will continue".

It reiterated the ambiguities and falsities in the farm billsNarendra Singh Tomar, Union Agriculture Minister, said that the repeal of farm laws showed that there was no difference between what Prime Minister says and what he does.He also blamed the opposition for not having a discussion when the Repeal Bill passed.

The AIKS release, which refers to a clause that Provide freedom for farmers to sell their product to any buyer at any location of their choice to realize remunerative pricing -- stated, "How this provision can ensure remunerative pricing is not understandable." In India, 6 percent of farmers are receiving the minimum support price as proposed by the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices.

This is despite the fact that India has a public procurement system "The vast majority of remaining farmers are at risk of being exploited and losing their land in the private sector." The absence of a public procurement system and a public market means that marginal and small farmers, which make up 85 percent of the farming community, cannot afford transportation and storage costs to sell their produce to anyone and anywhere.

The AIKS reminded the BJP that it had in 2014 agreed to pay farmers according to the Swaminathan Commissions recommendation.However, it said that it was not implemented in the seven years of BJP government.

The statement stated that farmers had asked why farm laws didnt include the clause to guarantee remunerative prices as promised by BJP.AIKS reiterated its earlier position that farm laws were intended to corporatize agriculture without allowing for MSP systems for procurement.Another point that was criticized by the farmers group was the governments claim about farm laws that "created an environment wherein processor, bulk buyers and organised retailers can directly engage with farmers".

This was a criticism that was made by the farmers organization.Tomar, however, stated in a statement that "The repealing of farm laws shows there is no difference between the Prime Ministers words and actions.

" Tomar claimed that there were "ample discussion" when the three farm law were introduced.When the ruling party is ready, Tomar stated that the opposition was asking for their repeal.

It would have been better if there had been no ruckus within the Parliament.However, the Lok Sabha Speaker kept insisting that he was open to a discussion provided that the members returned to their seats.
