Kolkata 2nd September : In the wake of the Supreme Court on Friday barred the Enforcement Directorate (ED) from taking any drastic action against Trinamool Congress national General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee until September 5, the former increased his vitriol against the Home Minister Amit Shah and the BJP.After being released of the ED’s Salt Lake office following six-and-a-half hours of interrogation in relation with the coal smuggling fraud, Abhishek Banerjee, who is also the nephew of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, informed media personnel that the sole job of the Home Minister was to utilize central agencies to take down the state governments that are ruled by opposition.
He also stated that the various problems of corruption, including cattle smuggling or coal smuggling , on which the central agencies are focusing their efforts against Trinamool Congress, are actually the frauds of the Union Home Ministry.
“The security and security of coal mines falls under the supervision of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) which falls under the authority of the Union Home Ministry.
Border Security Force (BSF) oversees the security at the borders, and is under the authority of the Union Home Ministry.
“So If police officers from West Bengal are being summoned by central agencies, then why are director generals of the two central forces aren’t asked questions? I’m stating now that the profits of these scams have reached directly the Home Ministry,” Abhishek Banerjee told.
But, he refused to elaborate on the specifics of the questions he was quizzed on Friday.
“What I have learned is that ED officials are under pressure.I’ve been through the ED interrogation three times.I will be able to face them again if I am called in the future.” he said.
The Trinamool leader also slammed BCCI Secretary Amit Shah’s son Jay Shah, for the alleged inability to hold the Tricolour in the match between India and Pakistan on August 28.
“The son thinks he will be the BCCI Secretary, even though he has decided not to fly the national flag, and his father believes that he will create a nation that is not ruled by opposition through the central authorities,” Abhishek Banerjee said.
He then made a shocking claim that between six and eight months ago the leader of the opposition in West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari had a telephonic chat with the chief accused in the coal smuggling trial who is now hiding somewhere in India.
“During the course of the exchange, Adhikari assured him protection. The audio recordings of the conversation is available and will be made available in the court at the appropriate moment.
If Adhikari is brave enough, he can file a defamation suit against me , for making this claim,” he said.
While not naming anybody, Abhishek Banerjee also said that one of the current BJP Lok Sabha members from West Bengal, who was exiled from Trinamool because of his role in fraud, was promoted to the Minister of State of State for Home Affairs.
