Addis Ababa : , Monday, November 30, 2010 – The number of confirmed Covid-19 patients in Africa was 8,638,595 at Monday evening, according to the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. According to the specialized healthcare agency of the African Union, (AU), the death toll on the continent is at 222,827.
Some 8,089,604 people have been treated for the disease.
According to Africa CDC, Xinhua news agency, South Africa, Morocco and Tunisia are the countries with the highest number of cases on the continent.
It said that South Africa had recorded the highest number of Covid cases in Africa, with almost 3 million cases.Morocco, meanwhile, was second with 949,732 cases as of Monday evening.
According to the Africa CDC, the most affected region in terms of caseload is southern Africa, followed by the eastern and northern parts of the continent.Central Africa is the least affected.
