Kabul, Dec 8, : Afghanistan will host Netherlands in a three-match ODI series at Qatar in January 2022.This was confirmed by the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), Wednesday. The three ODIs are part of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, which counts towards qualification to the 2023 Men’s cricket World Cup.
Three CWCSL matches were played by Afghanistan earlier this year against Ireland.They won the series 3-0.They currently have 30 points, and are No 11 in the standings.
After their series against South Africa, which was canceled late in November because of concerns about the Omicron version of Covid-19, the Netherlands has 25 points from four games.
Notably, the eight top teams in the CWCSL will automatically qualify for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.
The remaining five teams will participate in a qualifying campaign.
The matches will be played at the Asian Town Cricket Stadium, Doha, Qatar on January 21st, 23rd and 25th.
