Afghan rebels claim to be arrested of Taliban forces

Kabul Aug 16, : A Afghan rebel group that is armed claimed to have detained several hundred of Taliban forces in the midst of celebrations as the Islamists celebrated their first year in power .

Others called it as a "dark day"Five "Taliban occupiers" were killed and 40 others were detained in the Arezoo valley of Panjshir province, according to the spokesperson of the National Resistance Front (NRF), Sibghatullah Ahmadi, as he released photos of suspected captives.

NRF is headed by Ahmad Massoud, the son of famous anti-Soviet guerilla leader Ahmad Shah Massoud, and claims to be fighting for democratic principles like fair representation in the political arena of different ethnic groups, the protection of womens rights, and fair elections.The Talibans government has yet to make a statement on the claim.

However the Defense Minister Mullah Yaqoob Mujahid said on Monday that his forces would be able to thwart rebel groups in any circumstances.To commemorate the first anniversary of the fall of Kabul, Taliban members paraded in the city with US military equipment.their leaders addressed an on-air gathering.

In the course of the ceremony, Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi called on the world to join forces with the Taliban government.Social media sites, a lot of Afghans have spoken of their experiences and described it as"a "dark day" for their nation.

In an announcement in a statement, the UN diplomatic mission in the country stated that "without change, things could get worse".
