New Delhi, Nov 29, : , Police said Monday that a Afghan national was found dead in a Delhi street. Reports indicated that the deceased had suffered a bullet injury to his body.
According to the official, a call was received Sunday night from a man who claimed to be from Afghanistan.He was found unconscious on Wazirabad, north Delhi.
The official stated that the caller was a passerby.
Police personnel quickly rushed to the scene and found Afghan, identified by Siraj, dead on the street.
According to the police, the deceased was a small-time trader in Ballimaran.
Also dispatched was a forensic team that thoroughly checked the area and took all of the samples.
The dead body was then sent for post-mortem.
Although the cause of death has yet to be determined, preliminary investigations revealed that there was a bullet injury on the body.
An FIR was registered by the police at Wazirabad police station under the relevant sections of Indian Penal Code.
Officials have identified the accused but he is still to be arrested.
The official said that further investigation was underway.
