ACB raids in K’taka – Cash found in a house drainage pipe, ceiling stolen

Bengaluru, Nov 24, : , On Wednesday, the Anti-Corruption Bureau of (ACB), officials raided 68 locations in the state.They found more than Rs 50 Lakh cash bundles hidden in a ceiling and drainage pipe.
ACB sources claim that notes were also hidden in sarees.

Officers discovered currency notes worth Rs 13.50 Lakh in bundles inside the house drainage pipes that were attached to the bathroom when they raided the Kalaburagi residence of Shanta Biradar, a junior engineer.They also found Rs 15 lakh cash in the ceiling of the house.

They seized more Rs 55 lakh in cash from the ceiling of his house.

High drama was witnessed when Shanta went unanswered for 15 minutes, despite the team constantly knocking at the door.

They learned that Shanta Gouda and his son were busy stashing cash in the wash basin outlet.

After they gained entry, they had the pipe cut open and took Rs 13.50 lakh cash.

Sources indicated that Shanta Gouda inherited two acres from his father, and now owns more 35 acres near Kalaburagi.

ACB officers found wads of cash concealed in sarees at the house of L.C.Nagaraj, who is an administrator for Sakala department.A bundle of dollars was also taken by the officers from the home of Nataji Hiraji Patil, a Group ‘C’ employee, in Belagavi.

Rudreshappa was a Shivamogga resident and the officers discovered Rs 3.50 crore in gold.This included 7.5kgs of gold, 60 gold biscuits (100g), 8 gold biscuits (50g), diamond necklaces, and Rs 15 lakh cash.He is currently working in Gadag.

Sources claimed that Rajashekar was a physiotherapist at Yelahanka’s government hospital.He also purchased two revenue sites and three BDA sites.There is also five acres of land in Doddaballapur, taluk close to Bengaluru.

The majority of these purchases were made in the aftermath of the Covid pandemic.

The raids on 15 government officials were carried out by a team of over 400 ACB officers, which includes 8 Superintendent of Police and 100 officers.There are also 300 staff members.

Since Wednesday morning, raids have been taking place in different locations in Bengaluru, Kalaburagi and Davanagere districts, Belagavi, Mangaluru, and Belagavi.
