Mumbai, 23 Nov : .A Mumbai court ordered declaring Param Bir Singh, former Mumbai Police Commissioner, as an ‘absconder’ was placed outside Juhu’s home on Tuesday.

Officials said that the order also directed him to appear before the magistrate.
According to the court order, Singh is to appear in front of the Additional Chief Metrial Magistrate, Esplanade Court Mumbai or the Investigating Officer to answer this complaint within thirty days.

The court stated that Singh had filed a complaint under several sections of the Indian Penal Code relating to extortion, criminal conspiracy and that it is satisfied that Singh has fled or hidden himself in order to avoid serving the warrant.

Former Mumbai Police Chief faces at most five corruption cases and extortion.

A probe panel inquiry was also launched in response to the letter bomb accusing Anil Deshmukh (then home minister) and is currently being held in judicial detention until next Monday.

Singh has not been appearing in court for bailable or non-bailable warrants since the last few months.

On Monday, Singh informed the Supreme Court that he wasn’t absconding but is actually present in the country.He was then granted interim protection until December 6.

The apex court ordered him simultaneously to participate in investigations, and sent notices to both the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Maharashtra governments regarding the matter.

Singh, an officer from 1998 IPS batch was fired as CoP.He was promoted to Commandant General Maharashtra Home Guards.After which he attacked Deshmukh and led to his resignation.The Enforcement Directorate then arrested him.
