Islamabad, Nov 30, : Pakistan’s eastern Punjab province has reported 81 dengue fever cases and two additional deaths in the last 24 hours, Secretary for the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Departments of Punjab Imran Sikandar Aloch stated Tuesday. According to the official, there have been 25,094 cases in the province, including 145 deaths since the beginning of this year.
The official said that 58 out of the total 81 dengue cases were reported from Lahore, the capital of the province.This is the country’s hotspot for dengue cases this year.
According to Xinhua news agency, the total number of cases in Lahore district has reached 17,906 since this year’s outbreak.
According to the health department in the province, 808 patients are currently admitted to hospitals.
The Punjab provincial government has launched an extensive anti-dengue campaign in the province.
