Gartner: 5 out 10 Indian workers believe they are more productive at home.

Mumbai, Nov 30, : Five out of 10 Indian employees currently working in the hybrid work system claim they are more productive when they work remotely because they avoid traffic problems.This is according to a Gartner report.
Indian workers reported being more productive when they worked remotely, rather than dealing with traffic jams that could take up to four hours.

Rashmi Kotipalli (principal research analyst at Gartner), stated that Indian workers have increased their use of technology since 2020’s global pandemic.

“Improved digital agility, willingness to use real time mobile messaging and virtual meetings solutions, along with scheduled flexibility led to employees experiencing an increase in their overall productivity while working remotely,” she said in a statement.

Flexibility and choice of location are key enablers in the hybrid work environment.

According to the survey, Indian workers use mobile messaging for real-time communication every day.

83% of Indian digital workers surveyed said they prefer real-time mobile messaging over other tools when working remotely.

Kotipalli, Gartner IT Symposium/Xpo 2020: “Digital workplace technologies are now emerging as the core components for the “new work hub”, which represents an evergreen collection cloud-based personal and team productivity technology,” stated Kotipalli.

Globally, 60% of workers reported using messaging tools daily.50% also use collaboration and storage/sharing tools daily.

Contrary to Japan and China, Indian hybrid workers report preferring virtual meetings over in-person meetings.

Indian workers have always desired virtual meetings.Kotipalli said that Indian workers saw firsthand the flexibility benefits of virtual meetings during the pandemic.
