No casualties after a 5.1 magnitude earthquake struck Turkey’s Izmir.

Istanbul, Nov 30, : On Tuesday, a 5.1 magnitude earthquake struck Turkeys western province, Izmir.

There were no reports of casualtiesTurkeys Disaster and Emergency Management Authority, (AFAD), announced on its website that the earthquake struck Izmirs Urla in the Aegean Sea at 7 a.m.(0400 GMT) "After the earthquake struck Urla, there have been no casualties or damages reported so far," AFAD tweeted.They also added that "the field scanning work is ongoing in the region.

" Yasemin Boncuk (a 43-year old Izmir resident) told Xinhua by phone that the quake was accompanied by heavy rain and strong winds.He said, "I jumped out from the bed in fear."
