Istanbul, Nov 30, : Four people died in a strong southwest wind storm that struck Istanbul, Turkeys largest city, according to the Istanbul Governors Office in a statementAccording to the statement, at least 19 people were injured, three of them in critical condition due to adverse weather conditions.
One of the dead was a foreigner.
Media reports claimed that at least two people died when they were trapped under the smashed roofs of the Esenyurt area on the European side, Xinhua news agency reported.According to the Ihlas news agency, vehicles were damaged and trucks traveling on the highway were overturned.
A clock tower was also destroyed by the strong storm that blew at 130 km/h in certain parts of the city.Istanbul Municipality stated that the municipal teams received notices about 33 falling roofs and 192 fallen trees.
