Bengaluru, Nov 26th : .Thirty-three students and a staff member of an international boarding school in Bengaluru tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday, according to the Karnataka Health Department.After the outbreak, authorities conducted Covid-19 testing on all 297 students as well as 200 school staff members.
Two Nagpur children complained of fever and other Covid-19 symptoms.
According to the department, they were infected after they were tested.
The school administration and district administration are still waiting for the results of the tests taken by 174 additional students and staff members.
The infected children are in high school and in higher secondary schools.To monitor the medical condition and welfare of the children, the district authorities have sent a taluq medical officer and a health officer to the area.
In the wake of the outbreak, the school has begun to move back to online classes.According to school officials, all children have been returned to their families.
They also said that the boarding school has international students, and they will soon fly back to their countries.
Another international school, where two siblings tested positive for HIV last week, will open on November 29.
Another international school in Whitefield has taken the decision to run batch-wise Covid-19 testing for students every 21 day to detect cases of Covid.
Thursday’s positive test result was obtained by 66 students at the SDM College of Medical Sciences, Dharwad.
