Lucknow : , Nov 17, 2017 – The Uttar Pradesh STF and Shahjahanpur Police jointly arrested three people with 60 kg of “charas”, which are worth Rs 120 crore on the international marketplace.Following a tip-off, the team intercepted a black sedan on the Delhi-Lucknow National Highway near the RC Mission area and all three men in the car were detained in the early hours of Tuesday.
The team spotted a sedan in black on Delhi-Lucknow National Highway, near the RC Mission.All three of them were taken into custody within the first hours of Tuesday.
They were identified as Ram Bhulan and Sitaram from Bahraich district and Shekhar Thapa from Dehradun.These two were identified as Sitaram and Ram Bhulan from Bahraich and Shekhar Thapa respectively from Dehradun.
Sixty kilos of charas was recovered from the car.The car was found with sixty kilos worth of charas.
The accused told the police that they had brought the drugs from Nepal and were planning to smuggle it to various clients in Delhi, Haryana, Uttarakhand and Punjab.According to the accused, they claimed that the drug was from Nepal, and planned to sell it to clients in Delhi and Haryana as well as Uttarakhand, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Haryana.
S.Anand, Shahjahanpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), said, “The smugglers were on their way to deliver the consignment in Shamli district.Shahjahanpur Senior Superintendent for Police, S.Anand said that the smugglers were en route to Shamli district to deliver their consignment.Efforts are on to arrest other people involved in this racket.Other people are being sought out in the racket.
“The accused have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and sent to the district jail.”.The accused were booked in accordance with the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act) and taken to district jail.
