291 killed in battles between Syrian forces, IS Monitoring

Damascus 20th August : About 291 Syrian soldiers and Islamic State (IS) terrorists have been killed in battles between the two sides since start of this year as reported by a war monitor.

The British-based watchdog group reported that 155 Syrian soldiers and pro-government fighters were killed in ambushes and attacks from the IS in the desert regions.The IS has lost crucial areas in Syria however, some remnants of the group are present in the regions desert which has resulted in regular attacks against Syrian military positions and vehicles.
