Bengaluru : , The Karnataka State Road Transport Company’s (KSRTC), decision to give maternity leave to women who have adopted children was well received.Shivayogi Kalasad, KSRTC’s Managing Director, issued this notification.
It granted 180 days of maternity leaves to staff members who adopted children.This facility is only available to those with two or more children.
Parents who had adopted their children previously needed to be granted separate leave.The recent order allows parents to also take maternity leaves that are available to biological mothers.
Adoptive mothers can apply for leave up to one year after adoption, or prior to the one-year anniversary of the adoptive child.This was in accordance with the directive of the state to adopting parents as biological parents.
An earlier order by the Karnataka government granted 180 days of maternity leaves for women, and 15 days paternity leave to fathers.
