12-year girl latest rabies victim in Kerala despite vaccine

Thiruvananthapuram 5 Sep : A girl aged 12 on Monday was another victim of rabies in Kerala as she died on Monday afternoon, despite having been given three anti-rabies vaccinations during treatment.

The parents claim that they didnt receive proper treatment at the initial hospital in which she was admitted.In addition, this is the third death reported in the last few weeks, and last week this was a topic in the Assembly specifically about the effectiveness of the anti-rabies vaccination that is offered free of cost to the state-run hospitals.

The state has reported numerous instances of the threat of wild dogs that eventually bite people.A petition is expected to come up regarding the problem of stray dogs in the Supreme Court.sg/v.
