The officials from GSI (Geological Society of India) made one of the biggest breakthroughs in Indian history.A team of officials from the GSI have been searching for gold deposits in Son Pahari area of Sonbhadra district, Uttar Pradesh from the past 15 years.

After searching for over 7 years, the officials spotted a gold reserve for the first time in 2012.

Post that, further tests and search operations continued.

Finally, they have landed on a mine that could turn India’s fortunes on its head.According to official sources, the GSI officials found a 3650 metric tonnes of gold reserves in the Son Pahari region (Sonbhadra district), Uttar Pradesh.

‘The total reserves according to current estimates value up to Rs 12 Lakh Crores.The entire reserve is 5 times what we have in our country currently.We have also discovered another gold mine, which has approximately 646.16 Metric Tonnes of gold reserves’, a GSI official confirmed.
